About Us
Reign of Sound was formed in 2003 to provide a venue for young people to come together and make music, both as soloists and as a choir. Directed by Richard Greig, Reign of Sound performs a wide variety of choral music both sacred and secular, familiar and new. Varying in numbers from as few as 16 to as many as 24, Reign of Sound regularly performs repertoire from a variety of historical periods, from as early as the Renaissance right up to the most contemporary works. The group has performed in local premieres of works such as Ruth Watson Henderson's "Magnificat" and Morten Lauridsen's "Nocturnes". Members of the choir are given the opportunity to showcase their individual talents as instrumental and vocal soloists at each concert.
Regular participants in the Winnipeg Music Festival, Reign of Sound has won at the local and provincial levels numerous times and in 2006 and 2007 were runners-up at the national music festival.
